Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
Diligence and my empathy for my injured clients led me to find intentionally concealed construction records. Those records proved knowledge of a dangerous condition in a gated residential community. Those records resulted in a large settlement in a trip and fall case.
How did you build a successful practice?
I have built my practice by word of mouth and by establishing strategic relationships with other lawyers. I have developed a good reputation by making phone calls to clients and referring attorneys to keep them informed about their cases.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients want caring lawyers. Caring lawyers understand how to communicate with clients and emphasize with the concerns of the clients. Clients want to be kept informed. They want to have a commanding voice in the outcomes of their legal matters. I always closely consult with my clients on all significant developments in a case.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
The importance of local knowledge has greatly diminished in an era of free flowing information from social media.

The most important information I give in an initial communication is conveying my competence and my concern for the client's issues.

In an initial consult, i want to educate myself about the prospective client's goals.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
My empathy for the disabled and for the middle class.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The most rewarding aspect is obtaining redress for my clients who have been wronged. I represent plaintiffs and defendants.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
My other interests are advocacy on behalf of autistic people and people with similar neurological disabilities. I also work with at risk elementary school children through Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Broward County.
Are you involved in your community?
Yes. In addition to the Big brothers program, I also volunteer at a pet shelter.
