Ms. Tichenor is a graduate, cum laude, from the American University, Washington College of Law (1996) in Washington, D.C. She received an undergraduate B.A. degree in English Literature from Hofstra University in New York (1992).

Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Tichenor worked at the Washington, D.C. headquarters of U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of the General Counsel. In that position, Ms. Tichenor was responsible for regulatory oversight, investigation, and enforcement for the Food Stamp Program, as well as a number of other programs managed by the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) in Alexandria, Virginia.

In 2001, Ms. Tichenor entered private practice, opening the Law Office of Patricia E. Tichenor, P.L.L.C. Her experience in estate planning, securities arbitration, criminal defense, and divorce, as well as consultation for the Technical Advisory Service for Attorneys (TASA), has permitted Ms. Tichenor to enjoy a reputation as a lawyer who is not like the rest.
