Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
In a case dealing with a difficult set of facts involving a family law matter, I served my client well by working closely together in a unified, thoughtful manner. Despite an adversarial situation, we kept our tone professional, confident and calm. We pursued our requested relief in a methodical and steadfast manner. Ultimately, we achieved what we had sought out to accomplish using a dignified and positive approach.
How did you build a successful practice?
I believe a few necessary ingredients for building my law practice are: my work ethic, my passion for the law & a desire to help people resolve their legal challenge(s).
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
For starters, I believe a client should look for a lawyer who has a record of handling matters competently, efficiently, and professionally.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge is an important element of practicing law. No two cases are exactly alike but having knowledge of a judge's tendencies is particularly useful in the areas of family law and probate/estates. For example, with each case I aim to assess the situation and utilize my efforts and experience to project the legal outcome so that I can achieve the best possible result for my client.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
When I offer a free consultation, I offer my prospective client some insight into how the prospective client may be best equipped to address their legal challenge. I also like to offer my prospective clients with an overview of how I approach my cases and clearly communicate my fee structure.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
When I offer a free phone consultation, my prospective clients receive an added benefit if they have all available information pertaining to their case accessible to them.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
Previously I worked for a Probate & Family Law Judge, so now I have the ability to apply what I learned in that arena to my current practice. Also, as a father who cares deeply about family, I am humbled by my clients who have hired me with regard to family law and probate matter because they have entrusted me with a duty to zealously advocate for them and be thoughtful in what can be a delicate area of the law.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
I truly enjoy working with my client as a team to achieve the optimal result.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy playing sports especially golf and basketball.
Are you involved in your community?
I am quite involved in my community as follows: Oakland County Probate/Estates/Trust Law Committee Member and Past Chair (2011-2012) Oakland County Family Law Committee Member Oakland County Bar Association Member State Bar of Michigan Probate Section Member State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section Member Family Law Assistance Project volunteer Brother Rice Warriors Bar Association Member Brother Rice High School Alumni Association, Past-President Cub Scout Den leader
