About Paul
Paul D. Chancellor is an intellectual property attorney. Mr. Chancellor's practice focuses on patent and trademark preparation and prosecution, client counseling, and transactions relating to the transfer of intellectual property rights. He has considerable technical experience in the areas of mechanical inventions, electric power generation and conversion, and digital systems. In addition to being a member of the California bar, he is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to practice at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and various other State and Federal Courts.
Mr. Chancellor is a registered professional engineer in the state of California and his engineering degrees include an undergraduate major in mechanical engineering and masters degrees in mechanical engineering and environmental and applied fluid dynamics. His thesis work included development of novel working fluids for high temperature heat pumps and variable conductance heat pipe heat exchangers.
Prior to becoming an attorney, his engineering experience included management and senior management roles with General Electric's Gas and Steam Turbine businesses, Asea Brown Boveri's gas turbine business and Capstone's distributed generation business.
