In 2011, Mr. Gordon helped a client obtain a judgment against an attorney in the amount of $900,000 for fraudulent overbilling. In 2010, Mr. Gordon helped a client recover $1,350,000 from attorneys who prepared false documents they submitted to a judge during an ongoing lawsuit. In 2005, Mr. Gordon helped a client obtain a judgment against an attorney who intentionally disclosed the client's confidential information to embarrass the client and who then instructed an associate attorney to destroy evidence.
In addition, Mr. Gordon has been successful in obtaining verdicts and settlements for victims of accounting malpractice. In 2009, he helped clients obtain settlements exceeding $300,000 against an accountant who made misrepresentations to the IRS. In 2007, a jury rendered a verdict against accountants for negligence in their advice about the value of a business and rendered a verdict against the sellers of the business for negligent misrepresentation.
Mr. Gordon also has been successful in obtaining verdicts and settlements for clients with major physical injuries. He was the lead trial attorney who helped a client obtain one of the ten largest verdicts in the State of Colorado in 2004. The jury rendered a verdict in the amount of $1,120,000 for substantial injuries she received in a collision between a passenger car and a tractor-trailer rig. The judge added approximately $600,000 in interest due to the many years the trucking company denied responsibility for the injuries. In three other cases, Mr. Gordon helped clients negotiate settlements totaling $2,800,000 for physical and emotional injuries.
Further, Mr. Gordon has been successful in commercial litigation. In 2011, he helped clients obtain approximately $5,000,000 in judgments against two companies in Florida engaging in a fraudulent preconstruction financing scheme. He acquired a summary judgment in defense of a mid-sized corporation and recovered approximately $300,000 on the corporation's counterclaims. In federal court, Mr. Gordon defended a small South Carolina business in a dispute with a major national franchiser.
