About Peter

Pete serves as the Chief Operating Officer, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Director of the Workers' Compensation & Employment Practices Department of Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin. As well, Pete serves as a member of the Executive Committee, which is the governing body of the firm. In his capacity as Chief Operating Officer, Pete is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm.

Since 2002, Pete has also served as the Director of Workers' Compensation & Employment Practices Department, where he is responsible for the oversight of some 45 attorneys throughout the firm's offices. Prior to serving as Director of Workers' Compensation, Pete served as the firm's first Director of the Casualty Department. Over the years, Pete has developed extensive experience in the defense of a wide range of litigation matters including medical malpractice, municipal liability, employment practices litigation, motor vehicle, premises, products liability, etc.

In addition to his various duties for the firm, Pete has also lectured for various organizations such as the Pennsylvania Claims Association. He has held various offices in the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, including its President in 2002. He has served as an investigator as well as member of the Philadelphia Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention. Pete serves as a Judge Pro Tem for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, as well as a mediator for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  He has been named a Best Lawyer in America from 2001 to present and designated a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for 2005 to present in the area of Civil Litigation Defense.

Pete is a graduate of Penn State University. Following graduation from college, he attended the University of Stetson College of Law in Florida, where he achieved his Juris Doctorate in 1974. He then entered the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the United States Army. Mr. Miller served as a Captain at Ft. Riley, Kansas, home of the Big Red "1." He tried in excess of 200 military justice matters and achieved an Army Commendation Medal while serving as the 1st Infantry Division's Chief Trial Counsel. Following Pete's honorable discharge from the military in 1977, he began his career with the Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin firm.
