Mr. Rogers practices exclusively in the area of U.S. Immigration law.  He has extensive experience in business and family based immigration, litigation before U.S. immigration courts around the country and handling the most complex immigration issues.  Mr. Rogers has successfully represented clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies transferring multi-national managers and executives to the United States to professional athletes participating in nationally televised sporting events, to world renowned artists, performers, and scientists seeking permanent residence as aliens of extraordinary ability.

Mr. Rogers regularly works with entrepreneurs to establish businesses in the United States and to obtain status through those businesses as treaty investors or traders. He also assists his business clients with meeting their short term personnel needs through temporary work visas including H-1B, H-2B, L and O visas and their long term personnel needs through PERM labor certification cases and EB-1 immigrant visa petitions. He has helped many individuals with changing their status in the United States and has obtained waivers of the two year foreign residence requirement for J-1 visa holders under section 212(e) of the INA based upon showings of hardship, persecution and no objection by the home country.

Mr. Rogers has extensive experience with helping families bring their loved ones to join them in the United States.  He works regularly with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services and the United States Department of State to obtain visas for spouses, parents and children. He has also successfully represented fiancees and fiances of United States citizens at a number of consulates around the world.

Mr. Rogers has particular experience with handling the most difficult cases which involve bars to admission due to criminal convictions or previous immigration violations.  He has worked with U.S. Immigration Offices around the world to obtain waivers of inadmissibility based upon showing extreme hardship to qualifying U.S. relatives and on other bases.  He also works closely with criminal counsel to ameliorate the immigration consequences of criminal activity. 

Mr. Rogers also handles matters of U.S. citizenship including through naturalization or derivation based upon the naturalization of a parent.  He has had particularly success in obtaining citizenship for permanent residents in a timely fashion in the context of planning for the U.S. Federal Estate Tax.

Mr. Rogers has successfully represented individuals before U.S. Immigration Courts around the country and in Federal District Courts and United States Courts of Appeal.  He has successfully argued cases involving asylum, withholding of removal, CAT, cancellation of removal, section 212(c) relief, adjustment of status and special relief programs such as NACARA, Life Legalization and Registry.  He has also successfully obtained adjustment of status for former permanent residents in conjunction with waivers of inadmissibility.   

Mr. Rogers is admitted to the Federal and State Bars of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1994. He is a graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. He received his Juris Doctor from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1994. At Regent he was captain of the Jessup International Moot Court Team and was the driving force behind the establishment of an Immigration Law curriculum at the University. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) where is served as Chapter Chairman from 2006-2007.  Presently he is the AILA Pittsburgh Chapter Liaison to the Executive Office of Immigration Review in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Mr. Rogers speaks Spanish.
