Peter was born in Bronx, New York. He graduated from Salesian High School with a Regent's Diploma, and from the State University in New York at Albany with a degree in Political Science. Peter earned a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice and then obtained a JD Degree (law degree) from Western New England University, (then known as Western New England College School of Law). Peter has been an attorney admitted to practice since January 1989. In addition to admission to the New York State Bar, Peter is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is also admitted to practice in all U.S. District Courts located in New York and Massachusetts. Peter has appeared In a variety of courts ranging from municipal/Town Courts up to the New York State of Appeals, New York's highest court.

With the exception of personal injury cases, The Scagnelli Law Firm, PC, bills on an hourly basis and provides its clients written agreements concerning the employment of our services, as is required by the rules that govern attorneys. Retainer Agreements are written in plain English. We provide our clients with itemized bills every 30 to 60 days so that they are easily able to track the time and charges on their accounts.

I represented a patient in a psychiatric hospital that was brutally assaulted by another patient who was known to be assaultive. The hospital paid my client $300,000.00 in damages.
