About Philip
I joined Morse Bratt & Andrews, PLLC in December of 2007 because the firm has multiple practice areas and a solid relationship with the community. I enjoy the ability to solve my client's legal problems in a multitude of practice areas. The versatility of Morse Bratt & Andrews, PLLC is a benefit to our clientele, as they have the possibility of one-stop shopping for most of their legal needs. The versatility of our firm is becoming a rarity in this era of specialization.
I have an extensive and varied background in business, real estate, and management, beginning in the San Diego commercial contracting industry in the mid 1980s. I co-founded, built and managed a profitable multi-million dollar contracting corporation before selling my shares and semi-retiring in 1999. I still serve on the board of my old corporation and I am acutely aware of the opportunities and challenges business owners face.
My practice is limited to civil law, and that covers a fair amount of legal topics. I enjoy helping clients prevent and solve problems in real estate, construction, business, contracts and family law. Although family law may seem to be an odd adjunct to my practice areas, many business principles come to bear on family law decisions. I enjoy the chance to help clients work through difficult decisions when they are most in need of clear-headed advice.
Regardless of the specific legal issue at hand, I understand what it is like to retain an attorney to resolve difficult issues, to have my own money on the line, to make a large payroll each week, and to understand possible solutions to problems have costs and benefits. I have problem solved and litigated cases in Clark, Cowlitz, Pierce and Thurston Counties.
On a personal note, my wife and I are committed to Clark County and downtown Vancouver. I live, work, and volunteer my time in downtown Vancouver. I am a past and present volunteer board member for Columbia Credit Union.
