A Client came to me looking for an operating agreement for a new business. I explained that business ventures of this sort need non-compete contracts for protection along with operating agreement. Client said it was not necessary as they were long time friends. To be safe they should have it in writing, he agreed, 9 months later they could not agree on anything and partner was trying to sue him. Contract and non-compete clearly detailed everything and saved him immense sums of money and competition by avoiding lawsuit as well as the non-compete protections he had based on our conversations that detailed everything. Estate Planning- client came to me with a request for a Trust and Estate Plan help that he was quoted $4500 on previously. I explained that he could handle his estate plan needs with a basic Will and or beneficiary designations and Pay on Death designations. Saved him an immense amount of money. Probate- client came to me seeking probate help, he was quoted $7500 to start. After looking at his circumstances it was clear that the estate only had a homestead that could pass outside of probate and no other assets or debts existed. Again, immense sums of money were saved on initial quotes he received.

By being responsive to clients and available always returning timely calls and emails 7 days per week most always and always finding ways to work with clients to save money through flat fee or payment arrangements as needed.

Clients should look for responsiveness and patience from attorney to answer their questions and inquiries on all issues as they arise related to their matter. An attorney willing to work with clients based on their circumstances and specific needs. Ability to pay but also be willing to discuss alternative options and resolutions to their problems that would be cost efficient.

Local knowledge is helpful in knowing a lot about various court, judge or county rules with respect to how things are done and expected to be done and submitted.

Phone consultations are more detailed than most, preliminary considerations and options are discussed, additional information is usually requested and necessary, but most importantly, initial research on a matter if necessary is not fee-based and client has no obligations until contract is reviewed and returned with agreed upon payment terms.

Basics of situation and case, any time constraints or deadlines they want met, but most importantly, complete case intake form as soon as possible and return it with details so that preliminary assessment can be made on matter and useful information can be exchanged and given to client whether they use this firm or another firm.

I am willing to work with clients base don need and their circumstances, I limit my caseload and overhead so that I can pass savings on to clients and give them full attention and responsiveness. The #1 Bar complaint is lack of responsiveness from attorney they hired, my limited caseload allows for timely responses quite often 7 days per week.

Most rewarding part is helping someone in need who has no other option or outlet due to financial circumstances and limitations or simply being able to resolve a problem that they feel strongly about and is important to them to get addressed when no one else is willing to listen and help. Protecting people from unnecessary suits and costs is very rewarding in estate planning and contract formation.

Other interest are travel and fishing and sports. Family time is most important.

I try to do a lot of pro bono work on need based circumstances or work with people and their situations and circumstances that they find themselves in.
