Leslie A. Prior to joining Singleton Schreiber, Leslie was a Partner at a prominent national law firm, where she helped lead the firm’s national Appellate and Supreme Court Practice Group. Before then, Leslie spent nearly three decades at Public Justice, a national advocacy organization, where she argued and won numerous high-profile appeals, including unanimous decisions from both the California and United States Supreme Courts. Gary LoCurto is a partner in Singleton Schreiber’s San Diego office who focuses on wildfire litigation. He has worked up and mediated thousands of fire cases, reaching settlements totaling over a billion dollars for our clients in the past seven years. He also handles a wide variety of other civil litigation matters, including environmental nuisance, wage-and-hour, wrongful-termination, and personal-injury cases. Mr. LoCurto graduated with honors from Christian Heritage College with degrees in both history and psychology. He attended California Western School of Law, where he was an active member of the Environmental Law Society and interned with San Diego Coastkeeper. He also studied international humanitarian and environmental law in Prague, Czech Republic. Before joining Singleton Schreiber, Mr. LoCurto had his own practice where he specialized in plaintiffs’ employment civil rights law and handled personal injury matters. Alexia Palacios-Peters is an Associate Attorney in Singleton Schreiber's San Diego office, where she represents survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking. With a career dedicated to protecting vulnerable populations and advocating for underserved communities, she brings both compassion and expertise to her practice. Alexia's commitment to victim advocacy began when she served as Managing Attorney for the restraining order clinic at the San Diego Family Justice Center, where she protected individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. Her career later took her to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the federal government at the Board of Veterans' Appeals, adjudicating veteran appeals and furthering her dedication to serving those who have sacrificed for others. This diverse experience has shaped her holistic approach to representing clients who have endured trauma and are seeking justice. Alexia holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin, a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, and a Master of Laws in International and Comparative Law from George Washington University Law School. Brett Schreiber is a nationally recognized trial attorney and co-founder of Singleton Schreiber, where he leads the firm’s Personal Injury and Wrongful Death practice. Notably, in July 2025, Mr. Schreiber served as lead trial counsel for the families of a woman killed and a man gravely injured in a crash involving a Tesla vehicle in Benavides v. Tesla, the first wrongful death case against Tesla to proceed to trial. Tesla’s design and marketing of its Autopilot system created a false sense of safety that contributed to the fatal collision. The case also intersected with a 2023 federal recall concerning Tesla’s driver-monitoring system. On August 1, 2025, a Miami jury unanimously awarded the plaintiffs $243 million, widely reported as one of the largest individual-plaintiff verdicts in the history of the American civil justice system. Before founding Singleton Schreiber, Mr. Schreiber was a partner at Thorsnes Bartolotta McGuire, a San Diego plaintiffs’ firm. He also served as a legislative intern in the Florida Senate, worked as a lobbyist, clerked with a boutique South Florida law firm specializing in criminal defense, civil litigation, and family law, interned with the San Diego Public Defenders' office, and clerked with a small appellate practice. Mr. Schreiber’s career has been marked by early and sustained leadership.
