How did you build a successful practice?

My successful criminal and traffic defense practice has been built on a base of hard work, experience and an intimate knowledge of the courts in Southside Virginia, of which I am a native.

It is extremely important for those charged with criminal or traffic offenses not only to seek experienced, competent legal counsel, but experienced, competent LOCAL legal counsel from an attorney familiar with local prosecutors, law enforcement personnel, court staff and judges.

Local knowledge is one of the most important aspects of a successful defense.

In a free phone consultation I can generally inform a client of cost and a reasonable estimate of the potential outcome of a particular case.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

In an initial phone consultation, it is important to know the persons charge, the jurisdiction of the charge, and whether or not the client has a prior traffic or criminal record.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

My experience as a former prosecutor, my years of experience (31), and the fact that I am a native of the area in which I practice differentiates me from other attorneys in the area.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my job is the appreciation I receive from clients for a job well done.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

When not practicing law, I am very active outdoors, with interests ranging from biking to skydiving.
