About Rafael
Mr. Vergara is an associate in the Litigation Department. He is also a member of the firm's International, Appellate, Insurance Fraud, and Life, Health, and Disability Practice Groups. While his practice gives him the opportunity to work on various negligence and contract actions, Mr. Vergara's practice focuses on representing disability insurers against first-party claims.
Mr. Vergara earned his B.A. in Political Science-Criminal Justice at Kean College of New Jersey in 1996. He received his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law in 1999. While at law school, Mr. Vergara served as a Managing Editor of the Rutgers Law Review and was a Legal Research and Writing Teaching Associate. After law school, and prior to embarking in the private practice of law, Mr. Vergara became a judicial law clerk in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, Special Civil Part.
Licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York, Mr. Vergara is admitted to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits, United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States District Court for the Eastern, Southern, and Northern Districts of New York.
