I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and immediately after graduating from high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. The Marine Corps brought me to San Diego. I served over 8 years in the Marine Corps as a Reconnaissance Marine and as a Drill Instructor. After my enlistment, I remained in San Diego to attend college. During college, I worked as a law enforcement officer, and then attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law. I have been a La Jolla resident since 1998, where my wife and I are raising our daughter.

I graduated law school in December 1992, and took and passed the California Bar Exam on my first attempt in February 1993, and became a licensed attorney on June 18, 1993. Since becoming an attorney, I have been a sole practitioner in San Diego, California.

I practice civil litigation and family law which is a subsection of civil litigation. In practicing law, for over two decades, I have significant experience in repeatedly handling almost every issue involved in family law. I am very familiar with all aspects of civil litigation, and family law. Since becoming an attorney, I have been in court an average of 3 times a week, and over the course of my career, I conservatively estimate that I have been involved in approximately 3000 court hearings and more than 50 trials. My experience in court, gives me the ability to accurately advise clients on the probable outcome of their case.

The law exists to establish order in our society. In practicing civil litigation and family law, I use the law to guide and advise my clients. I attempt to advise my clients on the most probable outcome in court, and then encourage them to negotiate a settlement, avoiding expensive and emotionally charged hearings and trials.

I have assisted many clients in amicably resolving all of their issues where they have avoided the excessive costs of litigating their marital issues. I have a process that quickly and efficiently resolves their cases without the need to go to court.

It is very common for opposing parties to have extremely opposite goals in litigation. It is my hope that my experience will enable me to negotiate a settlement consistent with the law. However, when the opposing party maintains unreasonable expectations, I have the trial experience to litigate the case to a successful conclusion.
