BARBARA A. RASMUSSEN, ESQ. graduated cum laude from Long Island University at Southampton College in 1995. In 1999, she earned a Juris Doctorate from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center which she attended on a Dean’s Fellow Scholarship. After graduating from law school, Barbara worked in-house at New York Life on Madison Avenue, New York, New York before taking an Associate position at a local firm in Westhampton Beach, New York.

In 2004, she started her own law practice in the Hamptons, Barbara A. Rasmussen, P.C. handling a wide range of matters, including matrimonial law, real estate law, trust and estates, and civil litigation. Barbara has attributed her success to her diligence, perseverance, positive attitude, and her desire to achieve the results her clients expect.

Barbara is an active Member of Suffolk County Bar Association; former adjunct professor at LIU Southampton; Chairman of local Fresh Air Fund Chapter; member of Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce and Westhampton Beach High School Business Advisory Board; host family for Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League; coordinator of Adopt-a-Family at Westhampton Episcopal Church and member of the Westhampton Yacht Squadron.

Barbara is now also admitted to practice in Maryland and has a new second location in Rockville, Maryland where she assists clients in Maryland and DC with family issues as well.
