Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I substituted into the case of an injured construction worker who had suffered a very serious spinal cord injury. He needed attendant care, but the insurance carrier was refusing to provide it. Thankfully, I was able to nominate a treating physician that specializes in spinal cord injuries and able to obtain the much needed attendant care for him. This success doubled the value of his case, and now he is able to live his life happily as a husband and a father.

How did you build a successful practice?

I have a hands on approach. I look at each case individually. I have found that giving each case the attention it deserves yields the best results for the injured worker. If I obtain a good result for my client, my client will be happy with the outcome and is more likely to refer future clients to me.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Look for a lawyer that is truly interested in your case. He must be knowledgeable in the law, compassionate, and hardworking. A lawyer should be available to meet with his client when issues arise. He should explain all the options available so that an informed decision can be made.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge of the treating physicians in the area is important in selecting the best doctor.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

Coming from a working family, I can empathize with the difficulties and the challenges faced by anyone who is injured on the job. During the consultation, I can provide information on how a workers compensation case is handled and I can explain the benefits that are available.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I need to know the basic information such as the date of injury, how the injury occurred, and what parts of the body were injured. it would also be helpful to have the diagnosis, if known, and the length of employment, occupation, and wages earned.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I spend more time listening to clients and more time "working" the case to obtain the results the injured worker deserves. Additionally, I have extensive knowledge and experience in handling serious injury (catastrophic) cases.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I get personal satisfaction out of seeing my clients succeed, especially when we are able to obtain benefits for them that have been denied by the insurance carrier.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I love taking our dog Sadie for long walks, working on home improvement projects, and visiting with family and friends.

Are you involved in your community?

I occasionally like to visit with my neighbors, but my law practice is very time-consuming and it is my top priority.
