Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

While certainly important, I am equally concerned that my client get the best medical care possible. I am on a first name basis with many of the best scholar clinicians in the Chicagoland area, surgeons at the top of their field. I want my client's healthy, and I am always pleased to read a review from a client who recognized my medical expertise and is grateful that I was more concerned about their health than the other lawyers they interviewed. Read the review from "Eric" on AVVO.

How did you build a successful practice?

Compassionate lawyering. I recognize that an injury does not just affect the injured person but the entire family, and I am ready to help any time of day. My clients appreciate that they can reach me at 6 AM. I want to ease their anxiety and be both lawyer and friend.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Experience. Honesty. Integrity. Someone who has never been disciplined by the ARDC. Someone who does not make you wait for a return call or email response.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

It is important to be a big fish in both the small and big ponds. You do not want a jack of all trades attorney. You want to an attorney whose practice is singularly focused on your needs. Having a lawyer who is a known commodity in the local medical and legal arenas is crucial.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

There is no limit. The same information that the client would have and an in-person meeting. You speak to an attorney with 35 years of experience, not a call screener for a lawyer making TV commercials.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

As much information as the client is able to provide. The more information that can be provided, the greater my ability to help.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I care as much about your health as your wallet. I will guide through the client through entire process proactively to ensure the best possible result.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Being told that I am appreciated, that I made a difference.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I enjoy music, sports and travel. I collect vintage Roller Derby memorabilia. I have represented a few pro-wrestlers, hockey and football players.

Are you involved in your community?

I ran Little League baseball in my community for approximately 10 years. I coach high school baseball, and I run a pediatric cancer research foundation.
