Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I can't give details due to confidentiality, but in general there was a particular custody case where a child was being treated very badly and I was able to get the child protected and away from that treatment. There was another criminal case where the client really needed treatment rather than prison and I was able to accomplish that.
How did you build a successful practice?
My practice has been grown in large part by fighting hard for clients and getting good results, and people recommending me.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients are not lawyers so they can't be expected to really evaluate one. In my opinion, a client needs to answer: is this person smart and have the ability and a game plan that makes sense to me; will this person fight for me; and, do I trust this person?
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge of adverse counsel, judges' tendencies and local results in similar cases is very important.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
In a free consultation I will get the basic facts, and discuss possible issues and options and my initial take on what might be a reasonable case approach.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
You'd have to ask my clients, but I think my education, experience and attitudes differentiate me. My having practiced in Chicago and growing up there working my way through school driving a truck I think have made me aggressive and a fighter as well as honing my legal abilities, which clients seem to like and feel protected and well represented.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Helping people with problems get those problems solved and improving their lives.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I love listening to and performing music, mostly 70's rock.

I am involved, but not publicly like in associations of politics, I try to help out on an individual, direct basis.
