About Renee

Renee E. Mura has been a practicing attorney in Kenosha for 16 years.  She started her career in the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office, prosecuting Termination of Parental Rights cases.  During her 6 ½ years in the District Attorney’s office, she prosecuted numerous felony cases, including sexual assault, child abuse, and homicides.  Her career in the District Attorney’s office prepared her for a career in private practice giving her extensive experience in trial work and litigation.  Attorney Mura was also a Guardian ad Litem for Kenosha County from 1999-2001.

In private practice, Attorney Mura has pursued her career in the area of family law, developing expertise in the areas of divorce, custody and placement, guardianships, paternity, child support, termination of parental rights and adoption hearings, and restraining orders.  Attorney Mura has litigated and resolved a variety of complex family law matters.  Her commitment to her clients, determination in and out of the courtroom, and trial skills have contributed to her success as a family law attorney.  Her career highlight was arguing a child support case before the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the case of Beardsley v. Harper.

Attorney Mura has also continued her legal career in the criminal arena, focusing on criminal defense matters in private practice.  She has handled criminal law cases involving felonies, misdemeanors, domestic violence cases, and traffic violations, including OWI offenses and other citations.  Attorney Mura has also represented children in juvenile delinquency cases, including the disposition of criminal offenses and school expulsion matters.
