About Richard
Richard D. Bayer's practice encompasses the representation of individuals and entities in workers' compensation litigation and appeals, Social Security appeals, administrative law, insurance law, employment law, personal injury law, and general civil litigation. Mr. Bayer received a bachelor of arts degree with High Distinction from the University of Rhode Island in 1990, and is a 1996 graduate of the University of Maine School of Law. Prior to entering the private practice of law with Robinson, Kriger & McCallum, he held positions as a Staff Attorney in the Portland office of the Social Security Administration (Office of Hearings and Appeals), and as an attorney at Maine's largest workers' compensation insurance carrier, where he represented employers and insurers in workers' compensation disputes throughout Maine. He frequently speaks to insurance carriers and employer groups on current and evolving issues impacting Maine workers' compensation law. He is admitted to the Maine bar and the bar of the United States District Court - District of Maine, and is a member of the Maine State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives. Mr. Bayer is a volunteer attorney for the Maine Volunteer Lawyers' Project, is a member of the Town of Falmouth Zoning Board of Appeals, and is a former member of the Town of Falmouth Board of Assessment Review and Sewer Appeals.
