Richard F. Blahnik

Richard F. Blahnik has been practicing law in the Winona community for the past 26 years. He received his Bachelor of Science in English from Winona State University in 1967, and his Juris Doctor from Creighton University Law School in December of 1972. Richard was admitted to practice law in all courts in the State of Minnesota in 1973, and is also admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Courts for both the District of Minnesota and the District of Western Wisconsin. After serving the City of Winona as Assistant City Attorney from 1974-1982, Richard has, in addition to his private practice of law, served as Winona's City Attorney from 1983 through the present time.

Richard is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association in the sections of Estate Planning, Bankruptcy, Real Estate, and Public Law, and is a member of the Third Judicial District and Winona County Bar Associations. He is also a former member of the adjunct faculty of the Winona State University Paralegal Program and its advisory board.

Richard's wife, Sheila Blahnik, is a fifth grade teacher at St. Stanislaus Middle School. They have two children, Jeff, a student at Marquette University Law School, and Anne, a Cotter High School student.
