For more than 25 years, Richard L. Bush has represented and advised businesses on a wide range of employment law, HR, labor relations and benefits matters.  He has substantial experience and expertise in the defense of  employment discrimination and harassment claims, retaliation claims, wage and hour matters, whistleblower issues, immigration issues, and statutory claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the ADA, FMLA, OSHA, ADEA, FLSA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, WARN, NLRA, RICO, Sarbanes-Oxley, and state anti-discrimination and  workers' compensation laws. 

Mr. Bush serves as defense panel counsel for insurers in employment discrimination, labor and benefits claims covered under Directors and Officers, Employment Practices Liability and other  insurance policies issued by carriers on behalf of employers.

In addition, Mr. Bush regularly trains executives, managers and supervisors respecting employment practices compliance, and he advises employers in respect to their policies, procedures, Affirmative Action Plans, and in respect to non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, restrictive covenants and trade secret matters.

Mr. Bush regularly presents seminars, workshops and legal updates for the MidAtlantic Employers’ Association, and has been a speaker on a wide range of employment law, HR and benefits-related topics for other employer groups and associations including the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's Annual Employment Law Institute.  In addition, he has been a featured commentator for several HR and risk management publications including Society for Human Resources Management’s HR website and Employment Benefits News.   Mr. Bush has been a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for Labor and Employment Law by Philadelphia Magazine. 

Mr. Bush formerly served as corporate labor and employment counsel for 12 years with a Fortune 500 industry leader and four years as Chief Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Philadelphia Law Department.  Mr. Bush was also a senior executive with a Philadelphia major health insurer overseeing the risk management and litigation of thousands of employee claims.  More recently, he served as Of Counsel with two national law firms where he focused on the defense of employment, benefits and labor law matters. 

Mr. Bush graduated from the Pennsylvania State University, received his law degree from Widener University School of Law, and earned a Masters in Labor Law degree from Temple University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania and Connecticut state and federal courts and frequently litigates matters on a pro hac vice basis in New Jersey and other states.  He is the principal author of PA workers' compensation reform legislation, Act 57. His memberships include the employment law sections of the American, Pennsylvania and Montgomery County Bar Associations.
