Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I took a case that other lawyers had turned down, because they did not believe that there was much of a chance for success. I reviewed the matter in-depth and thought that there was a good argument that could be presented with respect to the interpretation of the relevant statute. The Judge agreed with our analysis and we won the case, saving the client's property.

How did you build a successful practice?

Referrals from clients, and a reputation for responsiveness -- keeping clients informed of developments in their matters and timely responses to client's e-mails and phone calls. Also, very reasonable rates and fair billing practices. Additionally, business clients value the monthly retainer option that we offer, in which all legal work is performed for one flat rate.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Experience in handling the type of issue or matter that the client needs assistance with, and someone that you can trust and develop a good working relationship with. The lawyer should timely respond to e-mails and phone calls, and keep the client fully informed of the status of the matter and discuss strategy and options.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

My qualifications and experience. I have served as in-house counsel for several businesses and helped build businesses from the ground up as an entrepreneur. I can fully understand and appreciate that that there are also business concerns that must be considered when addressing legal issues and litigation.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Fitness, and photography and videography

Are you involved in your community?

I serve on the board of directors of the Axis Music Foundation, a charitable organization that provides aspiring musicians the opportunity to showcase their talents at musical venues and community events around the Metro Detroit Area and abroad.
