Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

Father with family was charged with murder. Was able to get the murder charges dismissed and him back to his family and job within a couple weeks. Preparation, persistence and patience helped me to make sure he was able to attend his oldest child's graduation! College kid got into a pinch with some other of his friends and some jewelry was stolen and they were arrested in the vehicle used for the heist. After the press coverage, a successful preliminary exam and pretrial negotiations case ended up being dismissed. That young man ended up graduating from a very prestigious University here in the State of Michigan, received his Masters Degree and Law Degree, received a prestigious job with the Mayor of the City of Detroit and now is a best selling author, mentor and very sought after motivational speaker!

How did you build a successful practice?

Hard work, a lot of sacrifice and always striving to improve my craft as a criminal defense lawyer with Boot camp seminars, advance topic workshops and being a voracious reader!

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients look for a lawyer that isn't afraid to fight on their behalf. A lawyer who cares about their freedom and well being and a lawyer who can soothe their anxieties about what they are going through but yet keep it real as to what they are facing. A lawyer that is respected and well known when he or she walks into a courtroom. A lawyer that isn't afraid to go to trial and win!

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

It is critical. Was always taught "Know with whom you deal!" You also want them to know who you are and the best way for that to happen is through stellar work in the courtroom!

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

A basic strategy to defend the case and the fee that will be necessary to get the discussed goals completed.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

The basic who, what, when and where of what happened without making any admissions of involvement or guilt (can be discussed in a face to face meeting) ...Who the Judge is if assigned at the time of the call and what county did the arrest and or offense allegedly occur.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

My experience and success in State and Federal Courts nationwide. Not many lawyers have had cases to the breadth and complexity that I have had and been successful as well. I get results and I don't BS or mislead the client in what I say I can do for them! The good the bad or the ugly I always strive to be very creative, optimistic and aggressive with the defense of my clients.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping to attain that freedom to get clients back to their families, careers and lives in general.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Reading working out and riding my Harley Davidson thousands of miles, cross country.

Are you involved in your community?

Very much so! Mentorship programs for young men and college students are my focus...they need a road map to success and role models to assist them to navigate them to meet and exceed their goals!
