George Skelly is a member of Singleton Schreiber’s Personal Injury and Wrongful Death practice group, representing individuals and families throughout New Mexico who have suffered due to the wrongful actions of others. He has successfully handled cases involving automobile accidents, dog bites, slip-and-fall injuries, and other personal injury matters. With a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for his clients, George is dedicated to helping those facing the aftermath of catastrophic injuries or motor vehicle collisions. Early in his career, Mr. Skelly distinguished himself as a passionate advocate for injured clients. Before joining Singleton Schreiber, he began his legal journey in family law, where he worked to reunite families through the adoption process. This background provided him with a deep understanding of the personal challenges families face, which he now applies to his personal injury cases. Mr. Skelly is actively involved in his community and serves as a volunteer with New Mexico Christian Legal Aid, where he assists those in need of legal guidance. He is also a member of the Albuquerque Bar Association, the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, and the Family Law Section of the New Mexico State Bar. Mr. Skelly earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he received the CALI Excellence Award in Legal Writing. He is admitted to practice law in New Mexico and is dedicated to providing exceptional representation to clients across the state. Outside the office, George enjoys playing soccer, supporting New Mexico United, reading, and exploring the Bosque. He and his wife Vanessa recently welcomed their first child in July 2024.

Michael Duran is Partner at the Albuquerque office of Singleton Schreiber, where he brings over two decades of extensive litigation experience to the firm’s Personal Injury practice group. Mr. Duran is a lifelong New Mexican and has strong ties to northern New Mexico where his family can be traced back for several generations. His comprehensive background in handling personal injury cases at both state and federal levels includes automobile collisions, trucking accidents, premises liability, and motorcycle collisions. Before joining Singleton Schreiber, Mr. Duran served as the Managing Litigation Attorney at a prominent plaintiff law firm in Albuquerque for more than 17 years. In this role, he managed attorneys across the firm, filed and litigated numerous cases in New Mexico up and through trial. In that time, Mr. Duran took over a dozen cases to trial and verdict. His responsibilities also included supervising support staff and participating in extensive litigation activities. Earlier in his career, Mr. Duran served as an Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney at Stiff & Associates, Miller Stratvert LLP, and Houliston and Associates in Albuquerque, NM. In these positions, he litigated a wide range of insurance cases, maintaining a substantial caseload and fulfilling extensive litigation responsibilities including discovery, depositions, motions practice, and mediations. Mr. Duran earned his Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he made the Dean’s List and received a Certificate in Basic Mediation. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. An active member of several prestigious legal associations, Mr. Duran serves on the Board of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers and is a member of the National Trial Lawyers, the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, the American Association for Justice, and the National Hispanic Bar Association. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Mr. Duran leverages his language skills to effectively communicate and advocate for a diverse range of clients. Outside of his legal practice, Michael enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, cooking, eating, and traveling. He and his wife, Laura, are blessed with a blended family of six adult children, their spouses, and grandchildren.

Samantha Drum is an Attorney in the Personal Injury Department at Singleton Schreiber New Mexico, where she advocates for clients affected by car accidents, trucking accidents, slip and falls, dog bites, medical malpractice, instances of wrongful death, and other personal injury matters. With deep roots in northern New Mexico, Samantha brings determination, compassion, and a strong sense of justice to every case she handles. Samantha legal career is centered on being a champion for justice. She has represented personal injury clients throughout New Mexico, gaining valuable experience in litigation and client advocacy. Samantha is passionate about ensuring her clients are supported throughout the legal process and is committed to achieving meaningful outcomes on their behalf. Samantha earned her Juris Doctor from The University of New Mexico (UNM) School of Law, where she served as a Citations Editor and Associate Editor for the Natural Resources Journal and was named to the Honor Roll. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy from UNM, where she was a Dean’s List student and a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Demonstrating her resilience and drive, Samantha passed the New Mexico Bar Exam just six days after giving birth to her first child. She is admitted to practice in the State of New Mexico and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico. She is also an active member of the Albuquerque Bar Association and the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association. Outside of the office, Samantha enjoys baking fresh-milled bread, cooking, singing, listening to audiobooks, and raising her children alongside her husband, Matthew.

Alexander F. Flores is Senior Counsel at Singleton Schreiber’s New Mexico office, where he focuses on mass tort claims, wildfire litigation, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful deaths, and cases under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), including litigation in the U.S. Court of Claims. With a distinguished career as a federal prosecutor and military officer, Alex brings extensive experience in high-stakes litigation, having completed 17 federal jury trials. He is dedicated to advocating for justice, particularly in complex criminal and civil cases, and has a proven track record in both the courtroom and in legal leadership. Prior to joining Singleton Schreiber, Alexander served as a Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Albuquerque where he led a team of prosecutors handling violent crime cases, including homicides, sexual assaults, kidnapping, and firearms offenses. He also focused on Indian Country crimes, working to improve public safety in New Mexico’s Native communities. Alex forged deep relationships with Tribal leaders and law enforcement, and helped the Department of Justice to increase training, strengthen inter-governmental relationships, and improve the tempo and quality of investigations and prosecutions of crimes with a focus on Mission and Murdered Indigenous Persons and sexual assault cases. Prior to his appointment as a Supervisor, Alex personally prosecuted nearly 200 federal felony cases, including successful outcomes in appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Alex’s military experience further complements his legal expertise. He served twelve years in the United States Marine Corps, holding several key positions, including in the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of Military Commissions, as a prosecutor in Okinawa, Japan, an Aide-de-Camp, acting supervisory prosecutor, and complex trial prosecutor for all Marine units in the western U.S., where he led high-profile, special victim, and other significant cases. After transitioning to the reserves, he served as a law of war instructor, a supervisory prosecutor for the Department of Defense’s busiest prosecution office, and an administrative separations board hearing officer. In late 2024, Alex joined the New Mexico Air National Guard, where he now serves as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, advising Wing leadership on military justice, operational law, and ethics, and ensuring compliance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Earlier in his career, he clerked for New Mexico Supreme Court Justice Edward L. Chávez—an experience that further refined his ability to navigate complex legal matters with discipline and strategic insight. In addition to his legal practice, Alexander is actively involved in community and legal service organizations. He serves as a trustee for the Albuquerque Community Foundation, a Commissioner for the New Mexico Access to Justice Commission, and as a New Mexico Supreme Court appointee to the Access to Justice Fund Grant Committee. He is also a former Vice President of the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association and has held leadership roles in various local organizations. Alex’s awards and recognition over the years include being recognized locally by Albuquerque Business First as the single “Most Outstanding Under 30” honoree in its annual “40 Under Forty” awards in 2013, and nationally as a Top Lawyer Under 40 Honoree by the Hispanic National Bar Association in 2021. Alexander earned his Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he was recognized with both the Dean’s Award and Faculty Award. He also holds a Master's in Public Affairs from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Political Science from The George Washington University.

Brian S. Colón is the Managing Partner of Singleton Schreiber’s New Mexico offices, leading a team of over 35 professionals across several locations in Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Las Vegas, Los Lunas, and Mora. The firm’s work spans a wide spectrum of legal services, including wrongful death, personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, environmental law, insurance bad faith, and complex transactional negotiations. With over 30 years of combined legal, public service, nonprofit leadership, and community advocacy experience, Mr. Colón exemplifies a servant-leader approach to law and governance. A lifelong New Mexican raised in Valencia County, Mr. Colón was the first in his family to earn a college degree, graduating with a B.S. in Finance from New Mexico State University and later earning his J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law. Robert J. Sánchez is a Senior Counsel in the Fire Litigation practice group in the New Mexico offices of Singleton Schreiber, where he draws upon his experience litigating complex civil disputes across many subject areas, including catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death, professional liability, medical malpractice, products liability, construction defect, construction bond claims, insurance bad faith, premise liability, and appellate law.

Jacob Payne is a senior counsel in our New Mexico offices and a member of both our Fire Litigation and our Personal Injury and Wrongful Death practice groups. An accomplished trial attorney, Mr. Payne served the people of New Mexico as a government lawyer in multiple capacities before bringing his litigation skills and public entity experience to Singleton Schreiber.
