About Robert

Robert is an experienced communications, technology, transactions and government relations attorney.  Prior to joining General Counsel, P.C. in 2008 he practiced as a sole practicioner in Washington, D.C. since 2005. 

Robert was formerly executive director federal regulatory for US West (now Qwest Communications) and practiced at Arter & Hadden, LLP, and Reed Smith, LLP, before opening his own practice, Law Offices of Robert H. Jackson. He has handled all aspects of communications law and transactions for large and small service providers, technology companies, customers and investors.  Robert has represented clients before numerous federal and state agencies and courts, as well as with Congress and other state and local officials. 

As President of the McLean Citizens Association, a non-profit corporation that serves as the unofficial town council for McLean, Jackson works with a 40-person board of directors and six standing committees to represent the views of 26,000 households to state and local government officials on education, taxes, government spending, environment, land use and transportation matters. 

Robert received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota and his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
