About Robert

Robert E. Kohn represents businesspeople and their companies. He regularly appears in federal and state courts in cases where one of the parties allegedly competed unfairly, infringed another's intellectual property rights, misappropriated confidential information, breached a contract, engaged in concealment or deception, violated the securities or antitrust laws, or committed some other wrong. Such allegations often arise in the context of a bankruptcy case.

Often, the litigation is complex. Whenever possible, he works to simplify the issues to reduce cost for the client.

Mr. Kohn serves the Federal Bar Association as the co-chair for Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Trial Practice. Before entering private law practice, he clerked for the Hon. Joel F. Dubina of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has argued and won difficult appeals.

Mr. Kohn is a member of the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, and is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia. He attended Duke University, which awarded him honors with his law degree in 1992.
