Mr. Lohman has tried over 30 jury cases as solo or first-chair trial attorney in the Circuit Courts of Cook and Lake Counties, not to mention the dozens of bench trials and hundreds of arbitrations in-and-around the Chicago area. Mr. Lohman also won over 10 not-guilty jury verdicts from a jury in his first few years of practice. Additionally, he won a reverse-and-remand after an oral argument before the Illinois Appellate Court in the matter of Mueller v. Andre.
Mr. Lohman is a licensed attorney in both Illinois and Kentucky, and practices in both states. Aside from his legal practice, Mr. Lohman is also a licensed and practicing real estate broker, and a band manager.
Mr. Lohman began practicing personal injury defense litigation in 1997. At the height of his personal injury defense career, he almost exclusively defended wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases, handled complex litigation matters, and managed part of a 40-plus attorney, 3-office law firm.
After several years of successful service as a personal injury defense attorney, Mr. Lohman moved on to representing plaintiffs in personal injury lawsuits at Garelli & Associates. At that time, he also expanded his career to commercial litigation and transactions, including real estate closings and federal intellectual property matters.
Over the last few years, Mr. Lohman has concentrated his practice primarily in commercial litigation, and the handling of matters for both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts. In his last trial for Johnson & Bell, Mr. Lohman represented the plaintiff in a breach of contract and consumer fraud action.
Currently, Mr. Lohman manages his own practice. He handles residential and commercial real estate transactions and litigation. He is a title agent for City Suburban Title, Ticor, and Chicago Title. He also handles the acquisition and sale of business assets. Additionally, he represents plaintiffs in wrongful death and severe personal injury cases, which have resulted from auto accidents, slip-and-falls, and other injury-causing incidents.
Utilizing his education and professional background in theatre and music, Mr. Lohman provides entertainment law services to clients in the music and film industries. He negotiates and drafts contracts for bands and solo artists, shops demos, and handles copyright and trademark registrations. Mr. Lohman also executive produces, produces, and provides legal services for films. Additionally, he provides management services for musical acts.
Mr. Lohman handles various equine-related matters, including horse sales, breeding contracts, and waivers of liability for both stable owners and recreational equine activities. His law office also provides collections services for companies and individuals and handles corporate formations, including the registration of LLCs and S-corps.
Mr. Lohman is an Illinois-licensed real estate broker who also practices in the state. He services the list and sell side for parties in both residential and commercial real estate transactions.
