About Robert
Robert J. O'Brien has been with the firm since 1979 with construction, surety and specialized banking and commercial litigation as his primary practice areas.
Between 2007 and 2009 Bob served as Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association's Construction Law Section. He handles a broad range of construction-related matters on behalf of contractors, public and private owners, subcontractors, sureties, architects, engineers and condominium associations. Bob's banking litigation relates to check fraud liability matters under the Uniform Commercial Code. He regularly appears in courts, having conducted numerous jury and bench trials, before arbitration panels and in mediations.
Bob was recently named to the American Arbitration Association's Roster of Neutrals. In 2008 he received the Supplier/Service Provider of the Year award from the Associated General Contractors of Connecticut, and has been named to the list of Connecticut and New England Superlawyers He is a frequent panelist and speaker at construction law programs.
Bob is an active member of the Executive Committee of the Construction Law section of the Connecticut Bar Association, the ABA Forum Committee of the Construction Industry and the Construction Institute. He has served on the Board of Directors of the associated Builders and Contractors of Connecticut, the Program Committee of the Construction Institute and the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town of Avon, Connecticut.
