About Rocky

Rocky Lawdermilk was born in Texas on February 5, 1971. After graduating as Valedictorian from Irion County high school, he attended Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1994. At A&M, he earned Dean's list honors and the Academic Excellence Award. After graduating from A&M, Rocky attended law school at Southern Methodist University, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1997. At SMU, he received an early bar card and was appointed Chief Justice of the Legal Justice Clinic, where he tried cases and supervised other student attorneys. Additionally, Rocky was a Student Bar Association Committee Chairman, Associate Justice of the Moot Court Competition, an honorary member of the American Inns of Court, on the Board of Advocates, and an SMU Law Recruiter. After graduating from law school, Rocky spent two years trying personal injury cases on the defense side gaining experience before joining the Ferguson Firm, where he represents people. While he has experience in oil and gas title examinations, oil and gas litigation, regulatory, administrative, corporate, real estate, probate, worker's compensation, labor, employment and criminal law, his main focus is civil litigation and he has successfully tried numerous cases involving personal injury.

In 2002, because of his significant trial work, Rocky achieved the title of "Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization". He has been admitted to practice by the State Bar of Texas, and the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. He is a member of Southeast Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Jefferson County Bar Association, Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association, State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, and American Inns of Court. Rocky is a member of the MENSA organization.

Once again Mr. Lawdermilk was named as a "Texas Rising Star" as published by Texas Monthly magazine. This honor is awarded by a selected blue ribbon panel comprised of the top 5% of Texas designated super lawyers. Rocky and his wife Christi, are the proud parents of a newborn son, Gage Walker, and they continue to work with local charities including the Garth House (child abuse victims) and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).
