John R. Ternieden is a member of our Mass Tort and Fire Litigation practice groups. Before joining Singleton Schreiber, he spent several years working for one of the nation’s largest firms in its complex business and commercial litigation practice. He has successfully represented clients in all stages of litigation, including discovery, prejudgment remedies, dispositive motions, mediation, arbitration, and trial. Mr. Ternieden graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where he was involved with the Law Review and, as a member of the National Moot Court Team, represented BYU in New York City, Washington, and Portland. As a law student, he worked on criminal appeals with the Utah Attorney General’s Office and served as a research assistant for several professors. Before attending law school, Mr. Ternieden earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations and business management from BYU, graduating in the top of his class. He is currently admitted to practice in both California and Utah state courts as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of California and the District of Utah. Britt Strottman is a partner in the Sacramento office of Singleton Schreiber and leads the firm’s Public Entity Practice Group, specializing in litigation against corporations for wrongdoing. A seasoned litigator with over 25 years representing state and local governments, as both in-house and outside counsel, and 30 jury trials. After working on the tobacco litigation and subprime mortgage issues as a senior assistant attorney general in Ohio, Britt then represented over 40 California cities and counties in opioid and fire litigation, culminating in a $1 billion settlement with PG&E for the North Bay and Camp Fires. Her knowledge of complex litigation, as well as her ability to resolve eight-, nine-, and ten-figure lawsuits, puts her in a unique class of attorneys. She also represented Calaveras County in litigation over a destructive PG&E-caused wildfire, obtaining a $25.4 million recovery for the county. Her work on the San Bruno pipeline explosion, one of the most catastrophic gas line failures in U.S. history, led to a $120 million recovery for the City of San Bruno. The case stemmed from PG&E’s 2010 pipeline rupture that killed eight people, leveled an entire neighborhood, and exposed years of safety failures. Her role helped force accountability and deliver meaningful resources for the community’s long-term rebuilding. Ms. Strottman’s in-house counsel experience includes serving as a Deputy City Attorney at the San Francisco City Attorney's Office, Senior Assistant Attorney General at the Ohio Attorney General's Office, and a Deputy District Attorney at the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office. Matt Huffman is a contract and damages attorney working with Singleton Schreiber’s Litigation Division. As both the son of a volunteer fireman and a victim of fire himself — he saw his childhood home destroyed and his hometown devastated by the Clayton Fire in 2016 — Mr. Huffman is passionate about pursuing justice for his clients. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Huffman was honored with many awards during his military service, including the Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Lifesaver Certification, and the Army Commendation Medal. He is active in the veteran community, serving as a leader in the nonprofit organization Veteran’s Surf Alliance, which provides community and support to former members of the U.S. military as they return to their families and reintegrate into civilian life. He also is active with Veteran's PATH and Team Rubicon. Mr. Huffman earned his bachelor’s degree in construction management from California State University, Chico, before graduating from Empire College School of Law. He was a recipient of the Vietnam Veterans of California Scholarship. As a law student, Mr. Huffman volunteered at Legal Aid of Sonoma County under the guidance of former Sonoma County District Attorney, Mike Mullins. He also spent two years as a certified law student in felony criminal defense, researching, writing, and arguing motions under the mentorship of accomplished trial attorney, Barry Melton. His victories included a Governor’s Pardon. Before working with Mr. Melton, Mr. Huffman performed research assignments for personal injury and construction contract attorney, Tim Hannan. Grayson Bowman serves as an Associate Attorney at Singleton Schreiber, where he is part of the Class Action and Mass Torts practice groups in Sacramento. Before joining Singleton Schreiber, Mr. Bowman began his legal career as an immigration attorney, where he gained valuable experience at a prominent immigration law firm in Dallas, TX, where he managed a diverse caseload involving cases before various immigration agencies such as immigration courts, USCIS, ICE, CBP, NVC, the Department of State, and US embassies and consulates. He successfully represented clients from around the world, handling a wide array of cases, including citizenship and green card applications, as well as representing victims of crimes, special immigrant juveniles, and asylum seekers. His dedication to his clients has allowed him to navigate complex legal challenges effectively, ensuring that his clients receive the representation they deserve. Mr. Bowman earned his Juris Doctor from J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where he excelled in trial advocacy, becoming a champion in multiple prestigious trial competitions as well as participating on the Moot Court team. During law school, he also volunteered with the CARA Family Detention Pro Bono Project, where he assisted asylum seekers in preparing for their credible fear interviews. Andrew Bluth is a partner in the Sacramento office of Singleton Schreiber and, along with Chris Rodriguez, leads the firm’s Mass Tort practice group. Mr. Bluth has spent his entire career litigating complex civil disputes in state and federal court and has tried cases to juries and judges throughout California and the nation. His experience includes handling consumer class action cases, unfair business practice claims, and environmental cases. He has litigated cases involving a wide variety of issues, such as the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), California’s “two-party consent” telephone recording statutes, health care issues, contract disputes, and banking issues. Mr. Bluth graduated in 2004 from the University of California-Davis School of Law where he represented victims of civil rights violations in the school’s Civil Rights Clinic. He was President of the Moot Court Honors Board and competed on behalf of the law school at moot court competitions. He was also an editor for the Journal of International Law and Policy, and graduated as a member of the Order of the Barristers. Before opening the Sacramento office of Singleton Schreiber, Mr. Rodriguez was a partner at two major national law firms and served as the managing partner of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman’s Sacramento office. Mr. Rodriguez is an experienced trial attorney who has represented clients in jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations, and administrative hearings involving a broad array of complex civil litigation issues. He prides himself on not only being a fierce advocate and skilled trial lawyer, but also on developing practical, efficient strategies that serve the best interests and well-being of his clients.
