About Scott

As the original founder of Fletcher Law Firm, P.A., Scott formed this Arkansas Corporation on July 16, 2002. His goal was to provide the highest level of tax law services, and his exceptional devotion to quality has helped him achieve just that. Scott's practice focuses primarily on the highly-specialized area of defined benefit plans, but includes all other types of qualified plans. Scott's other professional areas of practice encompass tax planning, estate planning, asset protection planning, charitable planning and business entity selection and planning.

Prior to venturing out and forming his own law firm, Scott was the principal in and the President of a prestigious tax law firm in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he developed a regional reputation in the corporate world for significantly reducing the tax liabilities of his clients. Scott is a dynamic and enterprising individual with eleven years of successful legal experience with emphasis on tax law. Scott is known not only as a tax attorney but as a tax-reduction consultant. Virtually all of Scott's time is devoted to income, estate, gift and charitable tax planning for individuals and family-owned businesses.

Scott is a frequent speaker on the topics of taxation, estate planning, trusts, probate and charitable giving. Scott has regularly taught courses for the general public which were sponsored by the University of Arkansas, Division of Continuing Education. He also teaches highly-technical courses for other lawyers, accountants, bankers, insurance agents and investment advisors. For example, in 1998 Scott taught more continuing legal education courses than any other lawyer in Arkansas. This was greatly due to his expertise, experience and reputation for being one of the most highly-recognized tax attorneys in Arkansas. He was also the featured speaker at the Thirty-Eighth Annual Arkansas Federal Tax Institute for Certified
Public Accountants and Tax Attorneys.

In addition to the texts of his continuing education courses cited below, Scott has also been published numerous times in the high profile law journal Arkansas Business Law Journal. His published writings include: The Dynasty Trust(r): Estate Planning for More Than One Generation At A Time, Arkansas Business Law Journal, 1997-1998 and Living Trusts And Estate Taxes: The Hype Versus The Facts, Arkansas Business Law Journal, 1996.

Although much of Scott's time is devoted to his work and his clients, Scott's first priority is his family. Scott has been happily married to his wife Laura for more than nine years and they are expecting their first child on May 23, 2003. Scott's parents, Ben and Judy Fletcher, who live in close by Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, are looking forward to their first grandchild. Scott and Laura are active in their church, Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, where Scott teaches Sunday school and sings in the choir. Scott's other pastimes include golfing, snow skiing, fly fishing and especially bird hunting.
