Dr. Tenner has been actively involved in Healthcare Policy for over 20 years. Serving as a Clinical Professor of Medicine for the State University of New York, Health Science Center, Dr. Tenner is actively involved in education on healthcare policy. Currently serving on the Board of Trustees for the American College of Gastroenterology, Dr. Tenner is intimately involved in legal and legislative issues affecting its membership. He also serves on the Health and Public Policy Committee for the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Tenner has served as President for the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy where he directed the Annual Course, Practice Management Programs and Legislative Issues Sessions. While serving as Division Chief and Director of Medical Education and Research at Maimonides Medical Center, for over a decade, Dr. Tenner led medical education and research for the Division of Gastroenterology. He has also served as Chair of The National Affairs Committee for the College of Gastroenterology, Research and Grant Committee, and The Educational Affairs Committee for the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Tenner is a Surveyor of Ambulatory Surgical Centers for AAAHC. He also serves on the Board of Directors for AAAHC. Despite a busy private practice, Dr. Tenner is actively involved in teaching at Fordham Law School, Downstate School of Medicine and Maimonides Medical Center focusing on Healthcare Law.
