Sean Patrick McCormack was born on October 31, 1980, in Orlando, FL. Mr. McCormack graduated Oviedo High School in 1998 and then attended Florida Atlantic University where he graduated cum laude in 2002, with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. While at FAU, he swam 4 years Division One athletics. He obtained his juris doctor from Barry University School of Law in 2005. Mr. McCormack focuses his practice on workers' compensation, specifically representing the needs and legal interest of injured workers.

Mr. McCormack began his law career representing injured workers, particularly firefighters and law enforcement officers with their cardiac claims. He also practiced Social Security Disability and personal injury. He then went onto represent employers and insurance carriers specializing in representing employee leasing companies. He is now back representing injured workers.

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I recently won a permanent total disability benefits for a workers' compensation client of mine and the client was very pleased. Also-I was able to obtain authorization of a new handicap van for my paraplegic client.

Keeping clients happy, obtaining favorable results and encourage ongoing word of mouth referrals.

Dedication, communication and empathy.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Very much so. Being familiar with the judicial system and working well with other attorneys in the industry can lead to a positive resolution of the case. Having a healthy relationship with the doctors in the central Florida area is important.

I am an avid triathlete, cyclist, swimmer and runner and enjoy competing in races.

Yes, I am a guardian ad litem on dependency cases and a member of the Orlando Workers' Compensation Inns of Court. I am the co-chair of the membership committee on the Florid Bar Worker Compensation Executive Council.
