Practice Areas: Medical Malpractice, Wrongful Death Barbra earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland in 1995. Since graduating law school from the University of Miami in 1998, Barbra has practiced in the area of civil litigation. During her first five years of practice, she worked as a defense attorney focusing on products liability and insurance defense. She subsequently worked for 12 years primarily in medical malpractice where she was a partner for a boutique medical malpractice defense firm. Barbra currently is of counsel at Gordon & Partners where her main practice area is medical malpractice and wrongful death.

Ted has been with The Oshman Firm since 1988. He has over 25 years of experience in Medical Device and Drug Product Liability, Personal Injury Litigation, Medical Malpractice Litigation, and Commercial Disputes. Mr. Oshman received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Rochester. Following in the footsteps of his older brother Matthew, he obtained his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School. Ted serves on the Board of Directors of multiple charitable foundations and religious not-for-profit organizations. He is active in sustainable business ventures throughout the country and in international markets. He also serves as Officer and Director of an educational, not-for-profit organization and supports organizations such as Greenpeace and the Alzheimer’s Association. When he isn’t in the New York office, Ted is often in court or has traveled to visit with a client of the firm. At home, Ted can often be found spending time with his wife and three kids participating in activities from spin cycling to fantasy football. He also enjoys basketball, hiking, and the opportunities to coach aspiring entrepreneurs and sharing his business acumen.

As a young lawyer, Michael spent several years working for two of Atlanta’s premier insurance defense firms. He represented locally and nationally-known trucking companies, automobile insurers, and premises liability insurers in defense of lawsuits filed by accident victims. When Mike made a career move to the plaintiff’s side, his tenure in the large law firm environment and representation of prominent insurance companies provided Mike the experience necessary to obtain hundreds of favorable settlements and verdicts for his personal injury clients. After a decade of practicing law in Atlanta, Michael and his wife Bren decided it was time to move back to Bren’s hometown of Greenville, SC so they could help accident victims in the Upstate area and be a part of a beautiful, growing city. Michael’s experience in Atlanta’s fast-paced environment gives him a big advantage, as he has seen every type of injury and fact pattern and knows how to maximize the value of every case. Michael Melonakos was born in Monroe, Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University, where he majored in finance and international business and was the president of his fraternity. After graduation, Mike headed down to the University of Georgia for law school, and he’s been in the South ever since. While at UGA Law, Mike served as a notes editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property, was a teacher’s assistant to first-year law students in Contracts, and co-founded the Business Law Society. He credits his work ethic and compassion for our clients to his father and grandparents. When not working for his personal injury clients, Michael volunteers for the Greenville Bar Association. He regularly volunteers at his children’s schools and attends St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Emily opened a solo law practice in Las Vegas in 2003 with the primary focus of family law. Since that time Emily has worked diligently to establish a reputation as a knowledgeable and aggressive attorney, gaining the respect of both her peers as well as Judges. Emily has grown her practice over the years and in 2010 gained the credential of Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of Nevada. This is the top Family Law credential an attorney can obtain in Nevada. Emily is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and Vice President of the Nevada Chapter, fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers and an AV Preeminent Rated Attorney by Martindale Hubbell. Emily is a certified parenting coordinator and mediator, although her primary focus is litigating complex and/or contested divorce and child custody matters in southern Nevada and Nevada family law appeals. She is particularly knowledgeable in handling family law appeals, complex property division and financial issues, international child custody issues, parental kidnapping, and high conflict child custody cases. Prior to becoming an attorney, Emily worked for three years at the Tobacco Control Resource Center and Tobacco Products Liability Project in Boston, Massachusetts doing research projects on legal issues relating to tobacco. Emily has worked for the New Hampshire Department of Justice Consumer Protection Division and three law firms in Massachusetts in the areas of family law, tobacco and other toxic tort litigation, real estate, business transactions and estate planning. Emily writes children’s books for children going through family law issues and operates a publishing company for children’s books. While her practice is focused in southern Nevada, Emily is also licensed to practice in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, United States Supreme Court, United States District Court – District of Nevada, as well as all state courts in Arizona and California.

Joel L. Piedra is the Managing Attorney of The Pendas law Firm Orlando office. He joined The Pendas Law Firm in 2009. Mr. Piedra is experienced in Personal Injury and Products Liability cases. He dedicates his practice to helping accident victims get a firm understanding of the legal process and their individual cases and assists clients in obtaining the maximum value for their claims either through settlements or trial. Prior to joining the Pendas Law Firm, Mr. Piedra worked as an Assistant State Lawyer for the North Judicial Circuit trying numerous cases involving felonies and misdemeanors. He continued to sharpen his trial skills by working for one of the top criminal defense law firms in Central Florida. In 2005, Mr. Piedra moved to Miami and commenced his career as a civil trial lawyer working in the personal injury defense field. Mr. Piedra received his JD from Stetson University College of Law. He received his BA, with honors, from the Florida State University. Mr. Piedra is admitted to practice in Florida and in the U.S. District court for the Middle District of Florida. During his undergraduate tenure Mr. Piedra was accepted as a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma, the only national criminal justice honor society for criminal justice majors. Mr. Piedra is a first generation Cuban-American born and raised in Miami.

Justin represents clients nationwide in both federal and state courts. He has been named a “Georgia Super Lawyer” by Atlanta Magazine and a “Legal Elite” by Georgia Trend Magazine. The major focus of Justin’s practice is complex civil litigation, particularly business litigation, class actions, labor and employment disputes, and catastrophic and significant injury cases. He has served as lead counsel in a wide range of litigation subject areas, including RICO, products liability, shareholder derivative actions, business valuation cases, trade secrets, breach of trust or fiduciary duty matters, lost profits, consumer fraud, business torts, constitutional, civil rights, and computer fraud cases. Justin is a member of the Firm’s Cannabis Industry Group. In this role, Justin advises individuals, farmers, and businesses in a wide variety of issues, including licensure and compliance.
