As the founding member of the firm, Mr. Walton concentrates his representation primarily in the areas of real estate litigation, real estate transactions, and in state and federal civil litigation. Mr. Walton, is both licensed Florida mortgage broker and a title agent for Attorneys Title Insurance Fund and has extensive experience with mortgage law and particularly foreclosure law where he represents lenders, community associations, homeowners and investors. Mr. Walton also defends mortgage, title and real estate professionals in situations of alleged malpractice or misconduct. Active in the community, Mr. Walton provides basic workshops and seminars to teach first time and other home buyers. The subjects include on how to shop for a mortgage, what best to do when selling your home, and what to do if you fall behind on your mortgage. Additionally, Mr. Walton is active in legal community including having served as the President of the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association; the Florida Bar Civil Rules and Procedure committee; the Florida Bar Real Property Probate and Trust Law Executive Council; Miami-Dade Legal Services Board of Directors; Dade County Bar Association Treasurer - Vice President.

Founding partner, Joseph Spires is a Georgia native with over two decades of legal experience. He specializes in Worker's Compensation, Bankruptcy and Personal Injury. From 2002-2008 Joseph was appointed by the Georgia Attorney General to represent the interest of the State of Georgia as a Special Assistant Attorney General in the area of Workers' Compensation. He has experience litigating Plaintiff's cases as well as defending cases in Workers' Compensation hearings which gives him the experience to foresee the Employer's defense to a claim and to assist an injured employee with obtaining the benefits he or she is entitled. Joe has filed hundreds of bankruptcy petitions and prides himself on working with clients to make the bankruptcy process be as smooth and dignified as possible. His father was a mill worker with Graniteville Company for over 40 years and he understands that individuals can work hard, but still be in financial crisis. Joe has also worked extensively with Social Security Claims, primarily focused on Social Security Disability claims. He has filed numerous lawsuits in Richmond and Columbia Counties for personal injury clients who were not offered a fair and reasonable amount for their personal injury claims. Joe has solid trial experience in personal injury claims and is not afraid to bring your case to trial and fight for you; he knows how to maximize the value of your claim and get the outcome you deserve. Joe and his wife attend Warren Baptist Church and enjoy spending time together with their two children. Joe enjoys soccer and has coached for over 25 years and led his teams to several state championships. He is dedicated to developing leadership skills in youth throughout the community.

Clayton Cheek received his B. S. degree in English from Wake Forest University, his MBA from Wake Forest University and his J. D. from Wake Forest University. He is a member of the NC Bar Association, the American Bar Association and has been recognized by Super Lawyers. His focus is in Chapter 11, 7 and 13 Bankruptcy, Workouts and Alternatives to Bankruptcy, Business Entities, Contracts and Transactions, Estate and Succession Planning and Estate Administration. Before joining Oliver & Cheek, Clayton was a partner in the law firm of Hornthal, Riley, Ellis & Maland, L.L.P. in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, where he worked from 2003 to 2010. Before attending law school Clayton worked in a fund raising capacity with Ducks Unlimited, Inc., in Memphis, Tennessee.

Marcos D. Oliva was born in San Antonio, Texas and moved to McAllen where he attended James “Nikki” Rowe High School. After graduation he attended Texas A&M University in College Station on full scholarship where he majored in Biomedical Science. After college graduation he attended law school at John Marshall Law School in Chicago, IL. He has been back in Texas since 2004 and now practices consumer and business bankruptcy law. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Texas, the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts in the Southern District of Texas, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Justin L. Lawrence is the managing partner of Lawrence & Associates, the successful law firm he founded in 2005. Josh Mitchell graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1996 and studied law at the Birmingham School of Law where he graduated in 2000. He was a Law Clerk for the Honorable N. Daniel Rogers Jr., Circuit Court Judge, 10th Judicial Circuit of Alabama from 1997 to 2001. He then joined as a partner with Bouloukos, Oglesby and Mitchell. He is a former Public Defender for the City of Leeds, Alabama and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Alabama Bar Association, the Alabama Association for Justice, the Birmingham Bar Association, and is a member of the Small Firm Section and the Bankruptcy Section of the BBA.
