Upon graduation from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in New York, classmates Evan N. Pickus and Howard S. Landsberg sought to fulfill a vision- the formation of their own law firm. Originally intending to concentrate in the areas of tax and estates, Mr. Pickus opened his office in East Brunswick, New Jersey, and Mr. Landsberg opened his office in Long Island, New York, with the intention of working together to serve the needs of residents of the respective areas. Having a prior background in accounting, Mr. Landsberg felt after a period of time that his aspirations could be better fulfilled in the area of taxation and advisory accountancy. He, therefore, left the practice and went on to a very successful career in those areas. With his practice already established in New Jersey, Mr. Pickus decided to maintain the firm and has continued practicing under the Pickus & Landsberg name since 1994. Circumstances often dictate the direction of business. Contacts and clients needing real estate services tended to gravitate to the firm, and Mr. Pickus found his niche in the area of real estate law. Over the past twenty-five years, however, real estate clients developed other needs, requiring the firm to expand its areas of practice. We currently serve our clients, not only with real estate matters but in the areas of bankruptcy, family law, corporate matters, civil litigation, and estate planning. We have two goals in our practice. The first is to be a true “family practice” – to have the ability, in most situations, to serve the legal needs of our clients. Certainly, circumstances arise where clients require representation outside our expertise, and in such cases, we have a wide network of colleagues with whom we can entrust the representation of our clients. Our second goal is to do our best to ensure that our clients are satisfied with our representation. We know that we can’t always give clients the answers they want to hear. But we strive to provide the right answers, anticipating that at the end of the process, most will realize that we truly had their best interests at heart. John Ballard is a third generation attorney following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Jack Butler, and his father before him, General Howard Butler. Born and raised in Williamson County, John has spent his life in Middle Tennessee. Upon graduating with a Philosophy degree from Samford University he enrolled in Nashville School of Law where he went to school at night while working at his grandfather's law practice during the day. After learning the law from one of Nashville's legendary attorneys John spent two years as Judge Seth Norman's court officer in Davidson County Criminal Court Division IV. Working for Judge Norman gave John a unique opportunity to get to know attorneys as well as criminal defendants before graduating Law School in 2014, wherein he was awarded the Moot Court Award. John began his law practice at 1308 Rosa Parks Blvd with over a dozen of Nashville's best criminal defense attorneys. While developing a criminal defense practice, John learned that there was a need for a robust law practice that could serve many different legal needs of the community. It may be a dispute regarding insurance, government, or regulations, and knowing the right people and how to navigate seemingly complex issues is important. While working to find a solution without litigation is important, sometimes the only way to resolve an issue is to let the judge decide. John has spent most of his career in court arguing and winning cases in front of judges and juries on a myriad of issues. His background means that he is familiar with not only the courts but the judges, attorneys, and court staff as well. He is comfortable in the courtroom litigating complex issues because he comes prepared and outworks the other side. John has recently moved his main office to Franklin, Tennessee and brings with him the experience, knowledge, and reputation from Nashville, but also as a native to Williamson County.

Jim Bergenn's practice is comprised of complex criminal and civil litigation, including white collar crime and government investigations, personal injury and wrongful death cases, and other trials involving significant consequences. Eugene Mogilevsky received his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis in 2006. He graduated from Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer and Information Science. He is currently admitted to practice before Indiana State courts and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. He worked for Bankruptcy Law Offfice of Mark S. Zuckerberg, P.C. in 2008-2012 proudly serving thousands of consumers needing debt relief. He worked for Doyle Legal Corporation, P.C. in 2012-2014 representing major clients in mortgage foreclosure actions. He has been a faculty member and a lecturer in the Basics of Individual Bankruptcy (2010) and Annual Bankruptcy Institute (2011) seminars He practices primarily in the areas of consumer bankruptcy (Chapter 7 and Chapter 13), mortgage foreclosure defense, immigration, and general litigation. As a former immigrant from the Soviet Union, he had to learn the immigration rules and laws before he even started college, and is compassionate about helping other individuals and families get legalized in the United States of America. He is bilingual (English and Russian languages) and enjoys script writing for comedy clubs and producing comedy and musical shows.

Charles B. Lustig joined Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers as an attorney in January, 2020. Charles grew up in Norfolk, Virginia and received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia. He has been practicing law in Virginia for more than 30 years and has extensive experience helping injured clients in both trial and appellate courts.
