Robert T. Plevy, Esq. is a founding partner of the 1-800-HURT-911, LLP law firm. Robert is a graduate of Rutgers University and Brooklyn Law School. He began his legal career in 1993 as an Assistant Corporation Counsel defending The City of New York against personal injury lawsuits. Robert was sworn in as an Assistant Corporation Counsel by Mayor David Dinkins. While working as an Assistant Corporation Counsel, Robert learned the discipline and skills necessary to become a trial lawyer for the City of New York, trying many cases to verdict. He served his three-year commitment as Assistant Corporation Counsel before moving into the private sector with a large personal injury law firm, representing individuals injured in accidents in the New York City area. In 1998, Robert moved with his family to New Jersey and started his own practice representing the seriously injured. It has always been his passion to fight for the underdog. “Helping people is what I most love about personal injury.” While practicing in New Jersey, Robert was appointed by The State of New Jersey to sit as an arbitrator in Superior Court. Robert has arbitrated hundreds of personal injury cases in New Jersey. In 2003, Robert and longtime friend and attorney Phil Franckel formed a partnership through an advertising venture with 1-800-HURT-911 Phil had developed in New York. Byron A. Bilicki is the firm's founder and managing shareholder. Mr. Bilicki's 20 years experience includes trials and appeals involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, false advertising, and unfair competition. His patent prosecution experience has covered diverse fields such as medical devices, optical equipment, consumer products, automotive and heavy-duty truck parts, ultrasonic transducers, and computer technology and software. He has also litigated high-stakes patent and trademark cases involving well-known marks, as well as trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In addition to litigation, Mr. Bilicki has done extensive work in IP due diligence and licensing. He also regularly advises clients as to patent infringement and validity issues and the availability of trademarks for registration and use. Prior to founding the firm in 1993, Mr. Bilicki practiced with Morgan & Finnegan’s New York City office and Kirkpatrick Lockhart Nicholson & Graham’s Pittsburgh office. Mr. Bilicki received a Bachelor of Science degree (Chemistry major) from Allegheny College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was a published member of the Law Review. Mr. Bilicki is admitted to practice before the bars of New York and Pennsylvania, as well as several federal district courts, and courts of appeals, including the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
