He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served as a Field Artillery Cannoner from 1989 to 1993. Mike also served in the National Guard from 1993 to 1997 in the states of Arkansas, Oklahoma and North Carolina. Mr. Busby received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1996. He graduated from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas in 2002. Mr. Busby is a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Law fraternity and authored an international law legal article in a law journal published by South Texas College of Law. Mr. Busby has been faithfully married for 20 years and is the proud father of two daughters, Viktoria and Hannah Busby and father of Willam Maximus “Billy Max” Busby.

I focus my practice on immigration and citizenship law and have handled every type of immigration case, from family immigration matters to business and investor cases and citizenship applications. I am a nationally known expert on immigration and national security laws, and have testified regularly before Congressional committees on immigration, homeland security, and military matters. As a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Military Police, U.S. Army Reserve, I have extensive experience with U.S. military issues. I have also worked as a professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point, and have served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Alaska. I was a member of the American Bar Association Commission on Immigration from 2008-2012. I regularly author articles on military-related immigration issues, and am well-versed on “parole in place” for military family members and the Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (“MAVNI”) Program. I authored the book Immigration Law & the Military, which was published by the American Immigration Lawyers Association in 2012. On September 25, 2013, I was named a 2013 MacArthur Fellow by the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.

Mr. Goodman began his legal career litigating on behalf of those accused of crimes by first interning for the Federal Public Defender's Office for the Middle District of Florida. Wanting to learn just how prosecutors put together their cases against the accused, Mr. Goodman decided to serve as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County for over six and a half years. While acting as a prosecutor, Mr. Goodman tried over seventy cases to verdict. During his time as a prosecutor, Mr. Goodman handled death penalty murder cases, murders featured on national television programs, traffic homicides, crimes of violence, as well as complex economic crimes. Due to his expertise in trial work, Mr. Goodman was selected to serve as the Chief of Litigation for the Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Unit, where he was tasked with training over twenty attorneys on the rules of evidence, and how to properly handle and build a case from the initial investigation until a jury verdict. Additionally, Mr. Goodman was chosen to serve on the prestigious Traffic Homicide Unit where he investigated numerous traffic fatalities that ranged from vehicular homicide to DUI manslaughter. Mr. Goodman additionally argued on behalf of the State of Florida before the Florida Parole Commission, and was specially assigned to prosecute multiple cases by the Office of the Governor. As a defense attorney, Mr. Goodman has handled crimes ranging from traffic citations to murder – each case prepared with the idea that a trial may be needed to clear the client from the charges.

An entrepreneur, Ms. Chipperson founded and was president of ProActive Systems, Inc., an energy and construction consulting firm based in New Jersey that provided domestic and international contract negotiations, energy analysis and automation system design.Prior to starting her own practice, Ms. Chipperson practiced intellectual property law with Ward & Olivo (in both NY and NJ).
