Paul F. Who is Albert E. Norato, Jr.? He is not just some white-collared reclusive lawyer who works for the nice sports care and lavish lifestyle. Mr. Norato is a well-grounded, honest, and dedicated man who fights with a legal passion to represent those in need and uphold justice. Al was originally born and raised in the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. In his early life, he worked for his family business at an Italian-American restaurant in Federal Hill, Providence, RI. Feeling a strong desire to do more than just serve people, Albert decided to enter a career where he not only served the people but would risk his life to protect them. At the age of 21, Al joined the Providence police department. While in the police department, Albert continued to better himself and look for ways to further his career. Within six and a half years, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant while and obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from Roger Williams University majoring in the Administration of Justice. Ultimately, he earned a Master of Science degree in the Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University. Within 10 years of joining the force, Albert felt that there were many to protect and serve his community than the traditional law enforcement role and decided to pursue a career in law. Albert moved to St. Paul Minnesota where he attended and graduated from William Mitchell College of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. He was also a member of the William Mitchell Law review for two years. During his law school career, he multitasked as a volunteer for the defense counsel as well as an intern for the honorable judge Hon. Robert Lynn in Hennepin County, primarily working on several high profile cases that involved the 1992 assassination of a Minneapolis police officer Jerome Haaf. Eventually, Albert moved back to the East Coast and settled in Suffolk County. In 2000, he joined the Suffolk County Legal Aid Society as a staff attorney for the Family Law Bureau, where he handled a variety of cases. Along with his casework, he handled his own appeals in a truly dedicated fashion. In 2001, he was transferred to the District Court Bureau where he worked in general trial parts and was ultimately permitted to become a member of the D-35 Felony Team. In 2003, Albert decided to open his own legal practice where he handles predominantly every type of criminal action in the State of New York. Outside of his work, Albert Norato Jr. is a Distinguished Past Governor for the New York District of Kiwanis International, a service-oriented international organization whose mission statement is: A worldwide organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.

Ian was born on a public holiday- Veteran’s Day, November 11, 1977 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, New York to loving parents, Wendy and Warren who went on to have another son Jason, who is a successful Cantor in Northern Virginia. Since Veteran’s Day was a public holiday, Ian enjoyed public school closures throughout his early years and has extended that tradition into his Firm, making Veteran’s Day his Firm’s first recognized holiday. Ian learned from his early years. That fighting through physical altercation or violence was unacceptable. Rather, Ian fought through using his words, for words yielded an insurmountable amount of power which violence could never achieve. Underneath Ian’s sarcastic, strong and serious exterior is a thoughtful and compassionate man who vigorously fights for those who find themselves incapable of using words, or articulating messages in furtherance of their cause or in their defense. In 1996, 2001, 2006 and again in 2011, the New York State Legislature elected Mr. Bottar to serve as a Regent of the University of the State of New York, the most comprehensive and unified education system in the nation. Over his tenure as a Regent, Mr. Bottar was Chair of the College and Career Preparation Work Group, Chair of the P-12 Education Committee, and was a member of the Higher Education and Professional Practice Committees. He was also Vice Chancellor of the Board from 2012-2016. In 2016, after 20 years and more than 10,000 hours of pro bono service to the State of New York, Mr. Bottar retired from the Board. Mr. Bottar resides in Manlius, New York, with his wife, Nancy, a registered nurse.

Sam G. Caras (samcaras@caraslaw.com) was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. After a youth marked by participation in sports, Sam attended Wright State University, from which he graduated cum laude. During his last two years of undergraduate education he worked as a legislative aid for the Honorable C. J. McLin, and as a laborer in several industrial plants. Sam enrolled in the University of Dayton Law School in 1977 and graduated in 1980. During law school he enjoyed the privilege to clerk for the Honorable George J. Gounaris of the Civil Division of the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court for three years, while working part-time for two years with the City of Dayton Prosecutor's Office. Following graduation from law school he entered into private practice as an associate in an insurance defense firm, focusing on civil litigation defense of motor vehicle accidents, products liability, insurance, and professional liability cases. For several years after becoming partner in the insurance defense firm his practice concentration increasingly developed in plaintiff's personal injury and wrongful death. In 1990 he left the insurance defense practice and has since been practicing almost exclusively in the areas of medical and professional malpractice, wrongful death, serious personal injury, insurance litigation, with periodic referrals for business and contract litigation. Sam has practiced before all levels of Ohio courts, including successful arguments before the Ohio Supreme Court. He also has extensive experience in federal practice, particularly including practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, along with pro hac vice admissions in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama and U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
