I then resumed my career with the U.S. Army in the Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG). I retired from the Army in 2014 after 25 years of service. During my Army career I had the opportunity to prosecute and defend soldiers in cases worldwide. My career included deployments to Europe with the 1st Armored Division, and the Middle East, with the 1st Infantry Division. It is not my practice to take on a high volume of cases and plead them out as quickly as possible. I also don't refuse cases because they are hard. Lots of lawyers cherry pick cases so that they can build stats. I don't keep stats - I represent individuals and everyone's case is different. Everyone's case is unique and what is best for you might not be the same as what is best for the next person. I look at your interests, the facts and circumstances of the case, and the realistic possibilities. My goal is to provide the best representation possible, tailored to your needs and objectives. I focus my practice on immigration and citizenship law and have handled every type of immigration case, from family immigration matters to business and investor cases and citizenship applications. I am a nationally known expert on immigration and national security laws, and have testified regularly before Congressional committees on immigration, homeland security, and military matters. As a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Military Police, U.S. Army Reserve, I have extensive experience with U.S. military issues. I have also worked as a professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point, and have served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Alaska. I was a member of the American Bar Association Commission on Immigration from 2008-2012. I regularly author articles on military-related immigration issues, and am well-versed on “parole in place” for military family members and the Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (“MAVNI”) Program. I authored the book Immigration Law & the Military, which was published by the American Immigration Lawyers Association in 2012. On September 25, 2013, I was named a 2013 MacArthur Fellow by the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.

Kevin C. Ambler served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010, representing House District 47 encompassing most of Northwest Hillsborough County. During his 4 consecutive terms in elected office, he served on over 47 legislative councils and committees, including serving as Chairman of the Health Appropriations Committee in which he was responsible for nearly $20 billion dollars in appropriations for more than 3 million Medicaid beneficiaries and 80,000 health care providers and 15,000 health care facilities. During his tenure in the House of Representatives, Rep. Ambler received numerous awards and accolades from professional organizations, boards, and foundations as the top legislator of the year for his outstanding accomplishments for championing numerous important legislative issues. Representative Ambler attended Cornell University on a four-year Air Force ROTC scholarship where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Business Administration in 1983. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force. In 1986, he received his Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California. Soon after, he was appointed as an Air Force judge advocate and assigned to the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, where he served on active duty for nearly 5 years in several positions including Chief of Claims, Chief of Legal Assistance, Chief of Military Justice and Chief of the Civil Law Divisions. During this same time, he also was appointed by the U.S. Attorney General as a Special Assistant United States Attorney and was responsible for prosecuting criminal cases in federal court against civilians arising on MacDill AFB. Later, his responsibilities expanded to defending the United States in federal court in medical malpractice and personal injury cases arising under the Federal Tort Claims Act. Representative Ambler entered private practice and transferred to the Air Force Reserves in 1991. During his first year as a reservist, he was awarded the Harmon Award by the Air Force Judge Advocate General as the Most Outstanding Reserve Judge Advocate in the U.S. Air Force. Representative Amblerʼs other military decorations include the Air Force Achievement Medal, two Air Force Meritorious Service Medals, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and the National Defense Services Medal. He continued to serve as a Judge Advocate in the reserves until 2005. Representative Ambler began his career in private practice as a litigation attorney in 1991. In 1996, Representative Ambler opened his own firm, the Ambler Law Group, focusing in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability, wrongful death and personal injury litigation in both state and federal courts. His firm also handles complex business litigation and transactional matters as well as entertainment and sports law. Representative Ambler is a member of the Florida, Georgia and D.C. He has chaired the HCBA Entertainment and Intellectual Property Law Section (1999-2002) and he has been a regular and active participant in the HCBA “Ask A Lawyer” Pro Bono Program from 1995 to 2002. In 2002, he received the HCBA “Have a Heart” award for outstanding pro bono service. I've been practicing law since 1995. Born in Ilion, New York, Attorney Chester J. "Chet" Gregg graduated from the State University of New York, College at Oswego in 1993 with a B.S. in Secondary Education. In 1995 Mr. Gregg moved to Boston, Massachusetts and attended law school at the New England School of Law. As a law student Mr. Gregg worked with multiple government organizations including the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office and the Committee for Public Counsel Services (public defender). Mr. Gregg also gained experience in personal injury law through employment at the law firm of Roche, Heifetz, Murphy & Wholley, in Boston, MA, and at the law offices of Kenneth Halpern and Associates in Newton, MA. Mr. Gregg also served as a Case & Note Editor for the New England Law Review. Mr. Gregg graduated from law school in 1998, Magna Cum Laude. After law school Mr. Gregg was employed by a small computer software company, Forefield, Inc., in Worcester, Massachusetts. While at Forefield Mr. Gregg worked as a staff writer, production manager and worked on various corporate legal matters. In 2000 Mr. Gregg moved to San Antonio, Texas where he was employed at Standard Aero, Inc., as a government contracts specialist. Mr. Gregg joined the U.S. Army JAG Corps in 2001 and was stationed with the 3d Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Mr. Gregg initially served as a legal assistance attorney helping soldiers resolve consumer issues such as a landlord tenant law and military administrative issues. He then served as a military prosecutor for the next two years, trying cases involving drug use, assault, firearms, desertion and theft. Mr. Gregg deployed to Kuwait and Iraq with 2d Brigade, 3d Infantry Division, and was the first military JAG to arrive in Baghdad in April 2003. In May 2004 Mr. Gregg was appointed to be a Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA) responsible for prosecuting civilian crimes under Federal Law committed on Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. In that role Mr. Gregg prosecuted a wide variety of crimes ranging from driving under the influence (DUI) to attempted murder. His most notable case involved the prosecution of a civilian working as a contractor in Iraq under the Military Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Act (MEJA). Mr. Gregg's military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Combat Action Badge. Mr. Gregg is admitted to the state bars of Massachusetts, Florida, and Georgia. He is also admitted to the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Attorney Robert (Bob) Canfield was born and raised in Rockford, IL. He graduated from Guilford High School in 1965. After joining the Army in February of 1968, he went on to Army flight school and graduated 2nd in his flight class. He spent a year in Vietnam flying CH-47 Chinook helicopters for the 101st Airborne Division and then returned to Fort Rucker, Alabama, as an Instrument Flight Instructor. Following active Duty, he attended the University of Minnesota where he received his BA in psychology in 1976 and his Law degree in 1978. After taking and passing both the Illinois and Minnesota bar exam in the fall of 1978, he settled back in Rockford to practice law. Professionally, he started his law career working with an insurance defense firm. After a couple of years, he started his own practice and has spent decades practicing law on his own or in partnership with others. He currently is the owner and senior attorney with his firm, Canfield & McKenna. He maintains a general practice with an emphasis in the areas of Family Law, Real Estate Law, Probate Law, Wills and Trusts and Business/Corporation Law. He is also a Court Certified Mediator for the Family Court. In addition to his legal training and experience, he has enjoyed giving back to his community, both in military and civic service. After leaving active duty, he joined the Minnesota National Guard and, later, the Wisconsin National Guard, where he flew Helicopters until he retired after almost 30 years of military service. He has also taught Law and Economics at Rock Valley College. He has served and still serves on many other boards and committees. He is currently President of Rockford Day Nursery, and teaches the public boating class at Rock Valley College. An avid boater, he has sailed and boated in many countries, including Greece, Thailand, France, Canada and has boated all the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River. He is a graduate of The Nautical School of Maritime Licensing and has earned multiple certificates from the American Sailing Association, and he currently boats out of his home port of Racine, Wisconsin.
