She attended Colorado State University for undergrad with a major in Journalism, and attended the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville School of Law where she graduated with a Juris Doctor degree. She became licensed in Nebraska by motion (reciprocity) in 1984 after passing the Arkansas bar, and became licensed in Arizona in 2000 after passing the Arizona bar.
