Inspired early on by To Kill a Mockingbird and encouraged by a former classmate, Shawna pursued a legal career rooted in principle and purpose. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where she built a strong foundation in legal writing, analysis, and advocacy. During law school, she was a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys Moot Court Team and interned with the United States Attorney’s Office; these experiences shaped her courtroom presence and litigation skills.

Throughout her career, Shawna has focused her practice on family law, representing clients in domestic relations matters, adoption, prenuptial agreements, trials, and appeals.
