About Sheila
Sheila Gonzalez joined Mason Thomas in 2010 with over a decade of experience in insurance defense litigation. She was previously managing attorney and trial attorney for the Sacramento and Fairfield, CA staff legal departments of Safeco Insurance. Ms. Gonzalez specializes in personal injury, product defect, premises liability, elder abuse, dental malpractice and general negligence cases. She has also litigated employment and discrimination as well as construction defect cases.
She served as member of the Diversity Advisory Group responsible for establishing strategies, policies and goals to enhance diversity within the workplace. Ms. Gonzalez also served many years on the Sacramento Bar Association Summer Law Clerk Program Committee and as Judge Pro Tem for the Superior Court of El Dorado County.
Ms. Gonzalez earned Bachelors Degrees in both English and Spanish from the University of California, Davis and graduated Summa cum laude in 1992. She graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1997. Ms. Gonzalez is admitted to practice in California at the state, appellate and federal levels.
In her spare time, Ms. Gonzalez enjoys hikes and snowshoeing in the Sierra Nevadas as well as trips both domestic and abroad.
