About Shelley

Shelley wanted to be an attorney ever since she was a child growing up in upstate New York, where she was on her high school’s debate team. She attended the University at Albany, SUNY, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in English. She then attended the University of Houston Law Center, graduating in 2005. Shelley practiced as an Assistant District Attorney at the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office for 13 years, specializing in the Child Abuse Division and Mental Health Division. She moved on to the employment law field, first working as an Administrative Judge for the Texas Workforce Commission presiding over unemployment benefit claims, and then working as a Labor and Employment Law Attorney for the Internal Revenue Service, where she litigated Title VII employment discrimination cases before the MSPB, EEOC, and arbitrators. Shelley’s personal interests include reading and fitness. She enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and one very naughty golden retriever.
