About Sherri

Ms. Cook's practice in Glaser Weil's litigation department has focused on corporate matters involving the Securities and Exchange Commission, director and officer liability insurance claims, and multi-million dollar corporate breach of contract actions.  Ms. Cook's dedication to detail in the research and review of thousands of corporate documents for her clients has been critical to the development of strong defense strategies.  In June 2006, Ms. Cook was named a "Southern California Rising Star" lawyer as a result of a nomination and polling process conducted by Law & Politics magazine.

Prior to working for Glaser Weil, Ms. Cook was Assistant General Counsel to an international telecommunications company for five years.  In addition to drafting and reviewing corporate contracts for international transactions, Ms. Cook was responsible for the successful negotiation of numerous public permits for the construction of telecommunications infrastructure in areas governed by the California State Coastal Commission, the California State Lands Commission, California State Parks and Recreation, the Washington State Department of Natural Resources, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).  Ms. Cook also negotiated private agreements with the Chumash Indians, the Suquamish Indians, and the Central California Fisherman's Association.  Finally, Ms. Cook streamlined an estimated 18-month process for the renegotiation and execution of government permits in over 30 states regarding tariffs and service standards, completing  that process for all permits needed within 6 months.

Before serving as in-house counsel, Ms. Cook was an Associate at Irell & Manella LLP and specialized in securities fraud litigation and in the mediation and arbitration of environmental litigation.

Ms. Cook served as a Law Clerk for Judge Harry Pregerson, United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit during the summer of 1995.
