Silvia Rodriguez Sanders began honing her courtroom skills a public defender in Vero Beach, Florida, protecting the rights of those unable to afford an attorney. She continued this service for two years before moving to private practice. After a very brief stint representing insurance companies as a defense attorney, she realized that her passion helping individuals that had been injured. For the past sixteen years she has assisted individuals and families who have suffered injury due to the negligence of others. She has extensive experience assisting victims of automobile negligence, wrongful death, unsafe premises (slip and fall victims), dog bites and work related injuries.
Ms. Sanders has also devoted a significant portion of her practice to assisting individuals and families needing relief from debt in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy proceedings. She represents and counsels individuals and families facing foreclosures, wage garnishment, credit card debt, harassing creditors, collections and lawsuits.
Ms. Sanders received her B.A. degree from the University of South Florida in 1987 and her law degree from Stetson University College of Law (1990). She is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Florida and the United States District Court, Middle District. She is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and has served the Bar’s voluntary Pro Bono program as an advocate for the homeless, and a guardian ad litem for children.
Ms. Sanders was voted by her peers as one of Florida’s Legal Elite, a select group of attorneys comprising the top 2% of attorneys in the State of Florida.
A native of Cuba whose family fled communist oppression when she was three years old, Ms. Sanders is completely fluent in Spanish and English.
