Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I was able to obtain full custody for a single mom with limited resources fighting against a de facto father who had spent a tremendous amount of money on this litigation. Knowing my client's status as a single mom, I was able to work with her on a payment plan that she could afford. I felt good about the quality of representation she received and the successful outcome.

How did you build a successful practice?

It is important to listen to the client. I am basically always available to my clients. The messages are returned quickly. I have the necessary experience and skills needed to obtain a desired outcome. I have the litigation knowledge and skills to aggressively represent divorce, custody, domestic violence clients.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Experience, comfort in discussing case and common sense.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge of the court and local attorneys are very important. Being familiar with the judges' personality, likes and dislikes and views of on certain issues are priceless in my opinion. also, it is important for the opposing counsel to know that you say what you mean and that you mean what you say!

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

Important to rule out any potential for a conflict of interest. Basic knowledge can be obtained through the phone. Before choosing an attorney, it is best to meet them in person, see their office and get to know them as much as possible. Family law cases are long in duration and may take over on year before final completion. It is important for the client to feel comfortable with his or her lawyer.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

That no conflict of interest exists. Whether or not they can realistically afford my representation. That I am not their therapist and can not tell them to get a divorce or not. That decision should be made by the client and his or her support system.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I have a easy going personality. I am super available to my clients. I have extensive litigation experience in divorce and custody cases. I am also a trained mediator and an excellent negotiator. I have a bachelor of sciences degree in accounting and can navigate my way through complex legal and financial issues comfortably.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The human interaction. The ability to help people and help families to find a road map and be the best they can for their children
