Steven J. Ahmuty, Jr.
Steven Ahmuty chairs the firm's appellate practice. Mr. Ahmuty has briefed and argued hundreds of appeals in state and federal courts on a wide variety of subjects, including professional liability, products liability, torts, insurance and general commercial litigation. He frequently lectures on appellate practice issues at professional and industry seminars. Mr. Ahmuty received his A.B. from Bucknell University in 1975 and his J.D. in 1978 from Albany Law School of Union University, where he was Articles Editor of the Albany Law Review. He co-authors the monthly "Appellate Practice" column in the New York Law Journal, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers (membership limited by charter to 500 Fellows in the United States). He has been named in The Best Lawyers in America, the nation's definitive guide to legal excellence. He is a member of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association, and a member of the Defense Research Institute.
