Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

My client inherited property from his grandmother. Shortly after his grandmother's passing, he was served with an eviction notice. He hired our firm to determine why he has being evicted from his grandmother's home. We conducted investigation of public records and determined that a company had fraudulently executed documents to make an illegal transfer of the property to a third party. The third party was innocent and so was my client. It turns out the company was under criminal investigation for other such transfers. We were able to work out the issues in probate court favorable to my client. My client was able to rightfully inherit his grandmother's property.

How did you build a successful practice?

I work very hard for every client. I take my time to listen and explain the process of their case. Losing a loved one is a very difficult time for anyone, and the task of probate or trust administration can be overwhelming. I listen and try to do the best I can for every client. Most of my clients are referrals from past clients. I also work with many Realtors when we sell inherited property through the probate process. A good working relationship between the attorney and Realtor makes probate sales efficient and productive. I receive many referrals from Realtors that I have worked with in the past.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

A client should always look for someone who takes the time to listen to their case. Look for someone who offers Free Consultations.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I always provide Free Consultations. In the area of probate and estates, it is important to know the client's situation because no two cases are the same. There are many times when a client may not need to probate the estate if the estate is small enough. In a free consultation, I can evaluate the client's situation to determine what they may need.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

In the area of estate planning, you just need to know your own assets if you are looking to create your own estate plan. If you are probating the assets of a loved one, then you need to know a bit of information about their financial situation.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

Based on what I have heard from clients, the difference is that I focus on the clients needs first. I have had clients tell me that a lawyer they consulted would not speak to them unless they paid a retainer or a consultation fee. I don't do that, I will always listen first.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping people.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I love the outdoors. I love hiking and traveling to national parks.

Are you involved in your community?

Yes, I am involved in community service. My family and I provide food and clothing for a trailer park in Pomona. We also have an annual Christmas event where we provide gifts for the children in the trailer park.
